Maximizing Value In Financial Transactions Involving Strategic Patent Portfolios – Presented by Tyson Winarski & Carlo Segantini of Intellectual Ventures
Join SFIPLA for a discussion of M&A transactions involving patent portfolios and how to maximize value per dollar spent for all stakeholders involved. In an M&A transaction, patents can serve as a source of non-dilutive unleveraged financing for buyers willing to collaborate with parties interested solely in the acquiree’s patent portfolios. For sellers, finding multiple buyers with complementary interests in the patent portfolio and the operating business can maximize the transaction value and earn shareholders a higher return. This talk includes a discussion of the MIPs, Novell and Transmetta M&A deals.
