Judge Ronald Whyte Remembered
SFIPLA is saddened to announce the loss of Judge Ronald Whyte, inactive Senior U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Judge Whyte was unanimously confirmed by the Senate on February 6, 1992, and served with distinction for 24 years in the Northern District. He assumed senior status on March 2, 2009, and inactive senior status on November 1, 2016. We, at the SF Intellectual Property Law Association, had the honor of having him share his insights and wisdom as a panelist and speaker at a number of our Annual Seminar programs. We were fortunate to get to know him. Judge Whyte will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was a kind-hearted individual whose contributions to the court were admired and respected by his peers. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
In the coming days, a more comprehensive notice will be posted on The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California’s website with details on memorials. You can visit the link here.
