Ari Schwartz, Managing Director of Cybersecurity Services, Venable – A leading voice in national cybersecurity policy with extensive government and nonprofit sector experience, Ari Schwartz directs Cybersecurity Services for Venable’s Cybersecurity Risk Management Group. In this role, Ari guides the establishment of cybersecurity consulting services for Venable, assisting organizations with understanding and the development of risk management strategies, including implementation of the Cybersecurity Framework and other planning tools to help minimize risk. Ari also coordinates the Coalition for Cybersecurity Policy and Law, a group of leading cybersecurity companies dedicated to educating policymakers on cybersecurity issues and promoting a vibrant marketplace for cybersecurity technology solutions.
Shannon Yarvorsky, Partner, Venable – Shannon Yavorsky is a U.S., Irish, and English law qualified attorney who counsels clients on a broad range of U.S. and European data privacy and security issues, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), cross-border data transfer, data breaches, and global privacy compliance. She has significant experience with model contract clauses, privacy policies, website terms and conditions, data processing agreements, and advising clients on self-certifying to the EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield Frameworks. She advises multinational clients across industry sectors, with an emphasis on advertising, healthcare, and automotive.
Adriana Beach, Corporate Counsel, Privacy at 23and Me – Adriana Beach is Privacy & Data Protection Counsel at 23andMe, Inc., a personal genetics and biotechnology company based in Mountain View, California. At 23andMe, she helps lead cross-functional privacy and data security programs, including the organization’s research programs, product designs, marketing efforts, and internal policies and processes on U.S. and EU data protection laws. In August 2018, she became an adjunct professor at Golden Gate School of Law, in San Francisco, where she co-teaches Privacy Law. Before coming to 23andMe, she handled commercial transactions and product designs as Legal Counsel at Shopkick Inc., a Silicon Valley-based shopping rewards company.
