Non-fungible tokens — mathematically unique, non-interchangeable units of data stored on digital ledgers (blockchains) and traded on digital exchanges — have become a billion-dollar medium for international commerce in high-value assets including art and other creative works, historical artifacts, and real estate.
Our presenter, Jen Kuhn, will explore the legal issues raised by different kinds of NFTs, including copyrights and trademark protection, Name-Image-Likeness licensing, transaction structuring, and protection against counterfeiting and continue to explore the potentially unfamiliar ethical and legal risks — including securities law, privacy concerns, and other compliance issues — that can arise in representing clients in NFT transactions and related matters.
