NEW YEAR MIXER AND IP ETHICS
You are invited to SFIPLA’s first social mixer event of the year (we figured we should start the year out right)! Food and refreshments will be provided and we very much hope you will come join us for an evening of camaraderie and conversation with fellow members, old and new alike. The first half of the mixer portion of the program will take place from 5:30pm-6:30pm.
Immediately following the preliminary social hour, please join the SFIPLA and Michelle Greer Galloway for the CLE program portion of the evening and earn 1.0 credit toward the Ethics CLE credit. (The CLE section of the evening will be from 6:30 pm to 7:30pm).
The CLE session will be followed by the last half of the mixer/networking portion of the program which will take place from 7:30pm-8pm.

IP ETHICS
Michelle Greer Galloway will discuss and explore a number of ethics issues in IP practices including: the duties of loyalty (conflicts and disqualification) and candor; confidentiality and privilege; USPTO disciplinary proceedings and rule changes and more!
Presenter:
Michelle Greer Galloway is Of Counsel to the Cooley Litigation department and serves on the California Lawyers, Litigation Section Executive Committee.
Michelle is a patent litigator. She also advises clients on legal, strategic and technical issues of information management, including electronically stored information. She served on the Advisory Board of the Georgetown University Law Center’s Advanced eDiscovery Institute and is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production. She was a contributing editor of The Sedona Conference Primer on Social Media (2012) (and currently working on the drafting team revising this primer).
Michelle also advises clients in the area of risk management and ethics. She served as Chair of the ABA Intellectual Property Section, Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee and as the Liaison to the Center for Professional Responsibility and Section Officers Conference (CPR/SOC) Professional Responsibility Committee (2011-2018). In 2013, she chaired the ABA Task Force regarding USPTO proposed disciplinary rule changes. In 2013, Michelle was awarded the ABA IPL Recognition of Outstanding Leadership Contribution.
She teaches at both Stanford Law School, her alma mater, and the Santa Clara University School of Law teaching classes in patent litigation, pretrial litigation, and professional and management skills.
